Wife Forever, Caregiver Forever

I have officially set up this site as a place for anyone in the military community suffering with PTSD/TBI and other combat related injuries, with an emphasis on care giving for a veteran and the VA Comprehensive Assistance for Family Caregivers Program. For over three years now I have researched for hours on end, read books, kept quiet, spoke up, flipped out, broke down, became angry, try to convince myself that I can do handle it, tried to let go, figure out my purpose and try not to wake up with a negative outlook on the long unpredictable day ahead of me. If you can relate to the words “my husband/spouse is a veteran and I am his caregiver” coming out of your mouth while trying to explain what is “wrong with him” to someone, then you are definitely in the right spot. If you are currently in the VA’s Caregiver Program or have been dropped from it, you may find answers to the never ending questions you have running through your head non-stop here.

My intention is that this be a place of ideas and information to help each other out in whatever way that may be. Referrals, resources, directions on how to do things with the VA, input on what has worked and what hasn’t, a stronger support network, and much much more in the near future. Anything and everything from medications, doctor recommendations, service dogs, forms, processes, veteran and military/not for profit organizations, events, military discounts, therapy, the list goes on as you know. This should be a safe reliable place to obtain information and resources that are needed for you as the caregiver, your veteran and even your family. I will try to post a blog entry about a new topic once a month. Feel free to reach out to me with any questions or comments you may have. If I post the wrong information, please kindly correct me and I will fix it.

WELCOME TO LOST WITH LOVE!
